ITV, RSPCA give pets a home

ITV has commissioned Endemol Shine Group-owned Initial to make a six-part series supported by the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.

Give a Pet a Home will follow a team of celebrity animal lovers as they devote their time to finding new homes for abandoned animals who arrive at Newbrook Farm Animal Centre in Birmingham. It airs on the UK commercial broadcaster this spring.

Each episode of the show, to be hosted by Amanda Holden, will feature six new animals available for adoption, each championed by a different celebrity volunteer.

Viewers will be able to apply to adopt the featured pets via the ITV website and successful applicants will be featured on the following week’s show.

The series was commissioned by director of entertainment and comedy Elaine Bedell, and commissioning editor for entertainment Peter Davey. The show will be exec produced by Mirella Breda and series produced by Gerard Williams for Initial.
