UK commercial broadcaster ITV is to end its Inspector Morse spin-off show Lewis, but is bringing back popular comedy-drama Cold Feet.

ITV has confirmed that Lewis’ actors Kevin Whately and Laurence Fox will retire from the drama after 10 years playing the detective duo Robbie Lewis and James Hathaway.

The show was commissioned in 2005 and is set several years after the death of Lewis’ former long-term partner Morse. It will end after its ninth season finale on November 10.

Meanwhile, 1990s drama Cold Feet will return to the small screen in 2016, with its star Fay Ripley confirming the news.

Cold Feet was a ratings hit for ITV during its four and a half years on air between November 1998 and March 2003. The show was sold into 33 territories and was also reversioned for US network NBC. However, the Seattle-based version was axed in October 1999 after just four episodes.
