ITV Encore has Dark Heart

ITV subscription drama channel ITV Encore has ordered a two-hour crime drama about a string of gruesome murders of un-convicted paedophiles.

Dark Heart, from ITV Studios, is written by Chris Lang (Unforgotten, A Mother’s Son) and based on the novel Suffer the Children by Adam Creed.

The drama, which will be filmed in and around London, was commissioned by ITV controller of drama Victoria Fea.

ITV Studios Global Entertainment will distribute Dark Heart internationally.

Earlier this week, ITV Encore ordered a second season of its original series The Frankenstein Chronicles.

In related news, ITV has commissioned one-off special Ellie Simmonds: Swimming with Dolphins, which follows the Paralympic swimmer as she pursues her lifelong dream of swimming with dolphins in the wild. The show hails from IWC Media.
