ITV America has signed an exclusive deal that will see it produce series with former NBA star and basketball analyst Kenny Smith.

Smith, along with his wife and producing partner Gwendolyn Osborne-Smith, will create and produce series under their Smith Entertainment label.

Smith is one of the hosts of Inside the NBA on TNT in the US while Osborne-Smith has been behind gameshow The Price is Right for more than a decade. She also worked on the duo’s reality show Meet the Smiths, which aired on TBS in 2015.

Smith Entertainment will become an ITV America label focusing on reality, lifestyle, docuseries, competition shows and other content for broadcast, cable and streaming platforms.

The deal was brokered by ITV America’s Ed Simpson, exec VP of business development and international, and by ITV Entertainment president David Eilenberg.

Brent Montgomery, ITV America’s CEO, said: “Kenny and Gwendolyn are a modern-day power couple with incredible ideas and plans to create groundbreaking programming.

“We’re excited to collaborate with them in this creative partnership and to bring their great taste and sensibilities to multiple platforms.”

Kenny said the partnership would provide his label with “an unbelievable producing platform. It gives us an incredible home for our one-of-a-kind content.”

ITV America claims to be the largest independent producer of non-scripted content in the US, producing more than 100 programmes totalling over 800 hours of content. Shows include HGTV’s Fixer Upper, Hell’s Kitchen and American Grit with John Cena for Fox and Pawn Stars for History.
