ITV America names president

ITV America has named Adam Sher as its new president and has promoted David Eilenberg to chief creative officer (CCO), as part of a major reshuffle at the organisation.

Adam Sher

Sher, who was previously CCO, takes up the role vacated by David George, who became CEO after the departure of Brent Montgomery.

Eilenberg moves into Sher’s role from his previous position as president of ITV Entertainment, ITV America’s non-scripted production arm.

Sher will oversee all development, production and operations across the company’s production labels, including ITV Entertainment, Leftfield Pictures, Sirens Media, Loud TV, Outpost Entertainment, Thinkfactory Media and High Noon Entertainment.

He will also be responsible for ITV America’s talent production deals and partnerships, which he will continue to push.

David Eilenberg

He joined ITV America in 2015 as CCO of then independent prodco Leftfield Entertainment, which ITV America acquired from Montgomery in December of that year. Prior to his Leftfield job, he was CEO of Ryan Seacrest Productions, serving as executive producer on various series.

Eilenberg will be in charge of steering the company’s creative strategy, capitalising on its IP and unearthing new growth opportunities across cable, broadcast and digital platforms.

He will retain creative oversight of ITV Entertainment and will work with ITV America’s UK parent company to identify formats for potential US development and production.

Prior to joining ITV, Eilenberg was senior VP of unscripted development, late-night and specials at Turner Broadcasting, steering its hit series from its TNT and TBS networks such as King of the Nerds, Cold Justice and Howie Mandel’s Deal with It.

Heath Banks

Additionally, George has promoted Heath Banks, chief operating officer (COO) of in-house production group ITV Creative, and Danielle Bibbo, formerly senior VP of production at ITV Creative, to executive VP of operations and business development respectively. Banks and Bibbo will continue working with ITV America COO Chris Valentini.

The company overhaul was prompted by Montgomery’s decision to stand down last month to launch his own entertainment company, Wheelhouse Entertainment.

Ed Simpson, who served as exec VP of business development and international at ITV America, also left to join Montgomery in his new venture. Since then,  ITV America and Wheelhouse Entertainment have struck a production partnership with Wheelhouse’s new production outfit Spoke Studios.

Danielle Bibbo

George, who took up his CEO position on Montgomery’s departure, said Sher and Eilenberg have “consistently outperformed expectations at every level” and he was “thrilled” to promote Banks and Bibbo.

“I am enormously confident and eager to continue to work with both Adam and David as they step into their well-deserved roles as president and CCO respectively,” he added. “Banks and Bibbo’s stellar work on the production, operations and business development fronts affords ITV America the luxury of creative risk-taking and other big swings that help us remain at the top of our game.”
