ITV America develops with OJ prosecutor

ITV America has signed a deal with former OJ Simpson prosecutor and author Marcia Clark to develop unscripted series for a variety of broadcast and digital platforms.

Marcia Clark

Under the deal, which was secured by ITV America’s new chief content officer David Eilenberg, Clark will work with all the company’s production labels to create series on which she will serve as exec producer with the option of going in front of the camera too.

Clark collaborated  with ITV America’s non-scripted subsidiary ITV Entertainment recently on crime series Marcia Clark Investigates The First 48 for US network A&E.

Clark began her career as a defence lawyer before becoming a prosecutor in the LA District Attorney’s Office in 1981, working on a number of high-profile cases in the Special Trials Unit.

She is best known for being the lead prosecutor in the murder trial of former  football star-turned-actor OJ Simpson, about which she wrote her bestselling 1997 book Without a Doubt.

She is the author of several fiction books including Blood Defense, Snap Judgement and Guilt By Association.

Eilenberg, who worked with Clark on The First 48, said her criminal expertise in seeking out truth made her “invaluable to the process of developing and producing content in this space.”

The deal is the first major announcement since a reshuffle that saw Eilenberg move from president of ITV Entertainment to chief creative officer at ITV America.
