Israel’s Baker gets Russian revamp

The original version of The Baker and the Beauty

MIPCOM: Russian broadcaster CTC Media has ordered a local version of Keshet International (KI)’s romantic comedy The Baker and the Beauty.

The 10×30’ local version is planned to air in 2016 and will be produced by Yellow, Black and White, which is behind CTC’s remake of fellow KI show Traffic Light.

Yellow, Black and White CEO Denis Zhalinskiy said: “The Baker and the Beauty is extremely popular in Israel, which assures us that we can successfully adapt this story for Russian viewers.”

The format, created by Assi Azar, has already been adapted in Greece and the Netherlands and follows the love story between a simple baker and an international superstar.
