Ireland’s TV3 issues factual pitch call

Virgin Media-owned Irish broadcaster TV3 is seeking submissions for documentary series and factual entertainment formats from producers.

The TV3 Group, which is rebranding as Virgin Media Television later this year, has issued the pitching call as part of the latest funding round from the Broadcast Authority of Ireland Sound and Vision Fund.

Submissions for factual series and fact ent formats can be for any of the group’s three channels – flagship TV3, younger-skewing 3e and drama- and soaps-driven be3 – and would air this year and next.

“TV3 Group represents informative and entertaining programming with broad appeal, so ideas must reflect life in contemporary Ireland, showing issues and dramas that affect our lives, and investigate the milestones of modern living,” the broadcaster said.

“Returnable, brand-defining formats and series are of interest, focusing on original, noisy and topical ideas, fronted by new or existing talent, in hour-long slots. Unique access opportunities will also be considered.

“For those submitting documentary series or formats, a track record of great casting and confident storytelling is essential.”

TV3 added that producers that have recently submitted ideas to its portal should review the latest call-out documents and guidelines and revise ideas accordingly.

The closing date for submissions to the portal is Friday March 23.
