A US-based educational outfit has acquired the Irish preschool toon The Day Henry Met from distributor Monster Entertainment for a new app.

The 26×5′ series will be available on Houghton Mifflin Harcourt’s recently launched interactive content service Curious World.

Produced by Dublin-based Wiggleywoo Animation, the toon follows a charming, inquisitive boy who meets something new in each episode.

It premiered on Irish pubcaster RTÉjr over the summer and has also been picked up by ABC in Australia, TVO in Canada, YLE in Finland, SVT in Sweden, ETV in Estonia and Nickelodeon in the UK and down under.

Wiggleywoo took home the award for best European work for the series earlier this year at Italian animation festival Cartoons on the Bay.

Canadian series Hippothesis, produced by Yowza, will also be available for children to watch in the US as part of Curious World’s curated collection of games, videos and eBooks.

Available as an app for iPad and iPhone, Curious World is a subscription-based experience for kids aged three to seven.
