Int’l nets unearth Tricon’s antiques

Broadcasters from around the world have acquired a show about an antiques appraiser who travels North America to find collections people have amassed.

The History Channel in Germany, SRF in Switzerland and Discovery in CEEMEA are among the networks to have acquired Extreme Collectors (14×30′).

The series, produced by Toronto-based Architect Films and hosted by Andrew Zegers, has also recently been sold to True Visions in Thailand and Foxtel-owned A&E and Network Ten in Australia.

Meanwhile, Canada’s Tricon Films & Television, which distributes the show, has also secured broadcasters for a number of other factual series.

SRF and Discovery’s US cablenet Science Channel have both picked up Game Changers (8×30′), which shines a light on a new world of inventions from rebel scientists.

Accessible Media Canada, which specialises in providing media for blind, visually impaired and deaf, has taken multiple seasons of Get Connected (113×30′), a show about the latest technology products, services and innovations.
