Int’l nets take Zuckerberg’s Dot

Dot. is based on the picture book by Randi Zuckerberg

Broadcasters in Europe, Australia and Asia have acquired animated series Dot., created by Randi Zuckerberg and distributed by The Jim Henson Company (TJHC).

TG4 in Ireland, Finland’s YLE, Hop in Israel, Australia’s ABC and EBS in South Korea have acquired the 52×11′ show, which is produced by Industrial Brothers in association with TJHC and CBC in Canada.

Based on the picture book of the same name by author Zuckerberg, sister of Facebook boss Mark, the series focuses on a tech-savvy young girl and aims to encourage digital citizenship in kids.

It currently airs in the US on the Sprout block on Universal Kids and has previously been sold to broadcasters including Disney Channel in Japan, Piwi+ in France and SVT in Sweden.

“Dot. demonstrates how technology can be used to inspire and enhance everyday kid adventures and discoveries, appealing to both parents and children alike,” said Ian Lambur, management consultant, global distribution, TJHC.
