German children’s network KiKa, Viacom in the UK and Austrian broadcaster ORF are among those to have picked up a CGI animated comedy-adventure show from the creator of Waybuloo.

Wissper will air later this year on Kika and ORF, while pay TV rights for the UK have been acquired by Viacom International Media Networks Europe and its kids’ channel Nickelodeon.

Russian kids’ channel Karusel will also air the 52-part show, while ZooMoo Networks Asia has picked up pay TV rights for Indonesia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam and Myanmar.

Free TV rights have also been acquired by Thailand’s TIGA and Singapore’s Mediacorp television network, which will air Wissper on kids’ channel OKTO.

Wissper is aimed at preschool children and follows the adventures of a little girl by the same name who can communicate with animals.

The show was created by Dan Good (Waybuloo) and coproduced by London-based animation studio Absolutely Cuckoo and M4E, Telegael in Ireland, Discreet Art Productions in India and Germany’s BASTEI Media.

It was originally commissioned by Channel 5 kids’ strand Milkshake!, with German producer and distributor M4E handling global sales.
