Int’l nets fall for Turkish drama

Heart of the City first aired on Turkey’s ATV

A trio of broadcasters have acquired the latest romantic drama series produced by Turkey’s Ay Yapim and distributed by Eccho Rights.

Antena in Romania, Gem in Iran and Kurdmax in Iraq will air Heart of the City (72×45′), which debuted on ATV in Turkey in January.

The drama follows a young man raised at sea who reluctantly returns to his birthplace of Istanbul and finds himself drawn deep into the city in pursuit of a beautiful girl.

Eccho has previously sold the series, which is written by Ece Yorenc, to broadcasters in Chile and Georgia.

Ay Yapim is the production company behind the Turkish dramas Fatmagul, Forbidden Love (Ask-i Memnu), Kurt Seyit & Sura and Medcezir.
