Int’l nets click on Zuckerberg’s Dot.

Broadcasters in Europe and the Middle East have acquired the animated series Dot., created by Randi Zuckerberg and distributed by The Jim Henson Company.

Dot. is based on the picture book by Randi Zuckerberg

Dot. (52×11′) has been picked up by Canal+ channel Piwi+ in France, Canal Panda in Portugal, SVT in Sweden, Jim Jam in MENA and Benelux and Israel Education Television in Israel.

Based on the picture book of the same name by author Zuckerberg, sister of Facebook co-founder Mark, the series focuses on a tech-savvy young girl and aims to encourage digital citizenship in kids.

It currently airs in the US on Sprout and is produced by Industrial Brothers in association with The Jim Henson Company (TJHC) and the CBC.

CGI-animated adventure series Spash & Bubbles

Ian Lambur, who recently joined TJHC as a management consultant from The Walt Disney Company, said the series will “entertain children by showcasing the way she uses technology as a tool to enhance her everyday experiences and incorporate them into her playtime.”

Meanwhile, Canadian public broadcasters TVO and Knowledge Network have acquired the underwater CGI-animated adventure series Splash & Bubbles (80×11′) from TJHC.
