Indigenous Aussie drama joins France TV

Blackfella Films’ Redfern Now follows various stories of inner-city life

France Télévisions has acquired Indigenous Australian drama Redfern Now (12×60′) from the distribution arm of Aussie public broadcaster ABC.

The series will begin airing on the pubcaster’s channels France Ô and France Outre-Mer 1ère later this year having made its debut on ABC TV down under in 2012.

France TV has taken the broadcast rights to the show’s first two seasons for three years in the deal with ABC Commercial.

The series is a Blackfella Films production in association with ABC TV, Screen Australia and Screen NSW.

Written and directed by some of Australia’s most celebrated Indigenous creatives, each season follows various stories of inner-city Indigenous life.
