ID makes Unlikely Friends

US cablenet Investigation Discovery (ID) has ordered a one-hour documentary special focusing on the relatives of crime victims.

Unlikely Friends will explore the relationships that have emerged when relatives forgive the perpetrators of crimes, and will be shown as part of the channel’s ID Films strand.

It has been produced by Leslie Neale of Chance Films and is being narrated by M*A*S*H actor Mike Farrell, and is due to premiere in late October.

Henry Schleiff, group president, Investigation Discovery, said: “This thought-provoking, indeed, controversial documentary offers insight into alternative reform and rehabilitation programs within America’s justice system through a series of emotional interviews with both victims and their perpetrators.”

Investigation Discovery is part of the Discovery Communications portfolio of channels.
