ID lines up lesbian vampire killers

US cablenet Investigation Discovery has picked up a 26-part series on gruesome murders, including that of an Australian man who had his blood drunk by three lesbians who believed they were vampires.

World Media Rights (WMR) has pre-sold its new history series Killer Trials: Judgement Day (26×26′) to Discovery owned ID in the US.

NATPE 2012 [1]The series includes an episode on Australian lesbian vampire killers who murdered a man in Brisbane in order to drink his blood, and another on the notorious Railroad Killer who fled to Mexico to escape American justice.

The programmes feature interviews with victims who survived, the families of those who didn’t, and the lawyers involved with the cases. It also features footage from criminal trials in the US.

Alan Griffiths, CEO of WMR, said: “This series takes television crime to a new level as it features some of the most notorious contemporary murder cases in the world and how the killers were brought to justice.”

The series will be distributed globally by IMG International under the title Great Crimes and Trials.

The programmes are series produced by Leoni Jameson and executive produced by the creative director of WMR Matthew Barrett.
