ID appoints Oxygen exec

Discovery Communications has rejigged the senior development team at its US cablenet Investigation Discovery (ID) by adding an exec from NBCUniversal’s Oxygen Media.

Erica Diaz-Gant

Erica Diaz-Gant joins from Oxygen to become senior director of development at ID. She was previously in charge of Snapped, the longest-running crime series on Oxygen, and also developed and produced its second longest-running crime series, Killer Couples.

Diaz-Gant, who has credits on shows including She Made Me Do It and #KillerPost, will be based in Discovery’s New York office, reporting directly to Jane Latman, exec VP of development for ID.

Meanwhile, ID’s former director of development, Brent Hatherill, has been promoted to senior director.

Brent Hatherill

Hatherill joined Discovery in 2015 to work on non-fiction programming at American Heroes Channel and moved across to ID in 2016, working on shows such as the forthcoming James Patterson’s Murder is Forever.

He remains based at Discovery’s Silver Spring HQ and reports to VP of development Winona Meringolo.

Latman said the “bold personnel moves” would “bolster our development slate, help us continue to innovate the true crime genre and allow us to retain our position as the number-one network for women on cable.”
