Hulu claims WGN’s Manhattan

US streamer Hulu has acquired the SVoD rights to WGN America’s new drama series Manhattan.

Episodes of the show, which premiered on US cablenet WGN on Sunday night, will roll out each Monday to Hulu Plus subscribers until all 13 episodes of the season have played.

Meanwhile, the five most recent episodes will be available for free on Hulu’s basic service, after a three-day delay.

Tribune Broadcasting-owned WGN America ordered Manhattan last September. It was written and created by Sam Shaw (Masters of Sex) and explores the race to develop and build the world’s first atomic bomb. The show is produced by Lionsgate Television, Skydance Television and Tribune Studios.

Last week, Hulu landed streaming rights to iconic western miniseries Lonesome Dove, 25 years after it originally broadcast on US network CBS.
