Hulu captures 12 Monkeys

US video-on-demand and SVoD service Hulu has picked up the streaming rights to Syfy series 12 Monkeys.

Hulu has acquired Syfy’s film adaptation 12 Monkeys

The first season of the time travel thriller, produced by Universal Cable Productions, will be available exclusively on Hulu from February 24.

The second season is due to premiere on US cablenet Syfy on Monday April 18, once more following the journey of a man who is sent back in time to prevent a dark, hellish future from happening.

Atlas Entertainment and Charles Roven produced the original feature film of the same name, which starred Bruce Willis and Brad Pitt, upon which the series is based.

Hulu’s deal with distributor NBCUniversal also includes the full back catalogue of Battlestar Galactica and Saved By The Bell as well as kids’ series including Bob the Builder, Thomas & Friends and Barney.
