Hulu adds Disney-ABC sitcoms to library

Boy Meets World

Hulu in the US has picked up exclusive streaming rights to classic sitcoms such as Boy Meets World and Home Improvement from one of its parent companies.

All episodes from both series have begun streaming on Hulu following a deal with Disney-ABC Television Group, marking the first time the shows have been available via subscription VoD.

In addition, Hulu has acquired all episodes of Dinosaurs from The Jim Henson Company.

The shows join other classic sitcoms such as Full House, Family Matters, Step by Step, Perfect Strangers and Hangin’ with Mr. Cooper on Hulu through a deal with Warner Bro Domestic Television Distribution signed in July.

Hulu is a joint venture between Disney-ABC Television Group’s owner The Walt Disney Company, 21st Century Fox, NBCUniversal parent Comcast and Time Warner.

The service last week agreed a distribution deal with another of its parent companies, NBCUniversal, for hundreds of episodes of content, including sitcom 30 Rock.
