HRT picks up Globo’s Precious Pearl

MIPCOM: Croatian pubcaster HRT has picked up Brazilian media giant Globo’s International Emmy-winning telenovela Precious Pearl.

Precious Pearl has been watched by 26 million Brazilians

It is the latest in a string of Globo drama acquisitions by HRT, including Side by Side, Little Missy and Seven Women.

Globo has also licensed the drama to Telemundo for the Hispanic US market, Telemundo in Puerto Rico, EPG for South Korea, Armenian Public TV and TV5 Channel in Mongolia.

The show, the story of a working-class woman, a millionaire and their daughter, has been watched by around 26 million Brazilians.

It was also a hit on Globo’s pay TV platform in Portugal, as well as Teledoce in Uruguay, where it became the second most-watched drama in its slot during its launch week.
