History renews Knightfall, adds Hamill

History’s medieval drama Knightfall

US cablenet History has greenlit a second season of its medieval Knights Templar series, with Star Wars actor Mark Hamill joining the cast.

Knightfall is an A+E Studios production in association with Jeremy Renner’s The Combine and Midnight Radio. Aaron Helbing (The Flash, Spartacus: War of the Damned) is on board as showrunner and executive producer for the new run.

Knightfall goes inside the medieval politics and warfare of the Knights Templar, the most powerful, wealthy and mysterious military order of the Middle Ages, which was entrusted with protecting Christianity’s most precious relics.

Other premium drama series on the network’s slate include Vikings and the upcoming Project Blue Book, executive produced by Robert Zemeckis and starring Aidan Gillen (Game of Thrones) and Michael Malarkey (The Vampire Diaries).

A+E Networks holds worldwide distribution rights to the show.
