He will be president of the mega-indie, reporting to CEO Sophie Turner Laing.

The venture, yet to be named, was confirmed at the start of the month and will be completed by the turn of the year.

The merger, effected by Endemol and Core parent Apollo Global Management and Shine owner 21st Century Fox, has led to a slew of departures of senior staff.

Shine CEO Alex Mahon, Shine chairman Elisabeth Murdoch, Endemol CEO Just Spee and Core Media president Marc Graboff have all announced their departures. Core MD of international content and production Simon Shaps, plus director of business strategy and acquisitions Maureen Kerr have also left.

But C21 revealed in October that Hincks would be remaining with the new company, and that has been confirmed by Endemol this afternoon.

The company will become the biggest independent production entity in the business, operating in more than 30 markets with a catalogue of more than 600 formats in scripted and unscripted.

He held senior management roles at the company’s UK operation including creative director from 2002 to 2005, chief creative officer from 2005 to 2008 and then CEO from 2008. He was appointed president of the Endemol Group in 2012.
