Henwood moves into Ink Factory

The Night Manager prodco The Ink Factory has appointed a former Zodiak Media executive as its chief strategy officer.

Rod Henwood

Rod Henwood will be responsible for strategy, partnerships, story-world development and marketing in the newly created role at the US- and UK-based company. He has also joined its board of directors.

As the CEO of Zodiak in the UK, Benelux and India, Henwood was responsible for nine production companies. He left the firm in November 2016 following its merger with Banijay Group in February of that year.

Henwood continues to serve as chairman of Inquisitive Media, an on-demand TV and games company he founded last year with Nick James and Marc-Antoine d’Halluin.

Last month Inquisitive revealed plans to launch IQTV, a niche quizshow-focused SVoD service, with titles from BBC Studios, Banijay Rights and Channel 4 (C4) lined up.

Henwood was also a key player in the launch of both C4’s 4oD and JK Rowling’s Pottermore venture, and has a track record of digital and intellectual property innovation. He previously held the role of founding investor and CEO at Bin Weevils, a children’s social website, and led C4’s involvement in Project Kangaroo, the online TV joint venture between ITV, C4 and BBC Studios.

At The Ink Factory, Henwood will develop both new and existing franchises across multiple platforms.
