Henson, Cyber partner on toons

The Jim Henson Company (TJHC) in the US has partnered with an award-winning French producer and distributor to co-finance and coproduce two new children’s series.

Enchanted Sisters

Enchanted Sisters

TJHC and Paris-based Cyber Group Studios (CGS), which was recognised as the International Studio of the Year at Italy’s Cartoons on the Bay festival in 2014, will work together on Enchanted Sisters and Boubouh!.

Enchanted Sisters comes from TJHC and is a fantasy comedy-adventure animated series for children aged between five and eight. It follows four sisters who come together every three months to join Mother Nature in a ceremony that changes the seasons in our world.

Elise Allen, who has previously written episodes of Sid the Science Kid and Dinosaur Train, is writing the series.

Boubouh!, meanwhile, comes from CGS and is based on the eponymous book, written by Ingrid Chabbert and illustrated by Amandine Duggon, about a hairy monster who is frightened of children.

Animation for both series will be produced at CGS, with TJHC’s CEO Lisa Henson and executive VP of children’s entertainment Halle Stanford serving as executive producers. The partnership is the first time the two companies have worked together.
