HBO shifts Comedy in CEE

HBO is poised to relaunch its linear channels to subscribers in Central and Eastern Europe with a rebranding of HBO Comedy.

The changes will be introduced on March 21 and will see HBO Comedy become HBO3, offering HBO local and international original productions including US series and movies.

Meanwhile, the HBO channel will offer original-production premieres including fiction series and docs from the US, together with the latest Hollywood blockbuster premieres.

With the channel operating 24 hours a day, all main HBO original drama series will be broadcast simultaneously with HBO in the US.

HBO2 will offer family-oriented programming and is being rolled out in Romania, Bulgaria and the Adria territories for the first time. HBO broadcasts in 14 countries in the region including Hungary, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland and Romania.
