HBO distances itself from Louis CK

HBO has pulled all of Louis CK’s programming from its on-demand service following multiple allegations of sexual misconduct against the US comedian.

The premium cablenet made the decision following the publication of a report in the New York Times in which five women accused the performer of sexual misconduct. CK is yet to respond to the allegations.

HBO has also said the comedian will no longer appear in its forthcoming charity comedy special Night of Too Many Stars, which is due to be filmed this month.

Meanwhile, FX, which is behind CK’s comedy drama series Louie and Better Things, which he executive produces, said it was “very troubled” by the claims.

“The network has received no allegations of misconduct by Louis CK related to any of our five shows produced together over the past eight years,” FX said in a statement.

“FX Networks and [FX Productions] take all necessary actions to protect our employees and thoroughly investigate any allegations of misconduct within our workplace. That said, the matter is currently under review.”

The storm around CK follows numerous sexual misconduct claims against film producer Harvey Weinstein that sparked a wave of similar accusations in Hollywood and beyond.
