Colleen Flynn, former head of development at Keo, and Nick Underhill, who was MD of the Fish Fight producer’s digital arm K2, are launching Flicker Productions with backing from Greenbird.

The pair have also previously worked together at Twenty Twenty and the BBC developing a range of successful series. Most recently they worked on Eden for Channel 4 in the UK and were behind BBC series Bangkok Airport and Junior Doctors: Your Life in their Hands.

Flynn and Underhill have also previously produced branded content for Yahoo!, YouTube and Evian among others and are keen to continue working in that space while making factual television content aimed at 16-34s.

Greenbird was launched in 2012 by Shine TV’s Jamie Munro and Argonon’s Stuart Mullin to provide funding and back-office services to new indies.

Its recent investments have included Kalel Productions, set up by former BBC3 Pitch Idol winner Nick Parnes, and Top Hat Productions, under former BBC exec Darren Kemp.

Munro, said: “Colleen and Nick are exceptionally strong creative talents with an extraordinary track record of developing some of the most talked-about series on television.

“Combine that with their very strong branded content experience for global brands and they are quite the force to be reckoned with.”
