Gracepoint’s the way for Oz, Canada

Broadcasters in Canada and Australia have picked up the US adaptation of UK crime drama Broadchurch, just days before it premieres on Fox.

Gracepoint will premiere on Fox in the US and Canada’s Global TV on October 2, while Australian pay TV platform Foxtel will air it on Universal Channel on October 3.

The deals were secured by distributor Shine International.

Gracepoint is a 10-part version of ITV hit Broadchurch and stars David Tennant (Doctor Who), reprising his role from the UK original, and Anna Gunn (Breaking Bad).

The show, which focuses on the investigation of the murder of a young boy, is made by Shine America, Kudos Film & TV and Imaginary Friends, and will fill the Thursday 21.00 slot in the US and Canada.
