Globo series picked in Panama

A Panamanian broadcaster has picked up a package of telenovelas, miniseries and movies from Brazilian broadcast giant Globo.

Telemetro has struck an agreement for telenovela Trail of Lies, miniseries Siren’s Song and Next in Line, and feature films Till Luck Do Us Part 1 and 2.

Set in the bustling Brazilian city of São Paulo, Trail of Lies tells the story of a woman whose baby is kidnapped and abandoned by her own brother, who plans to keep the entire family fortune.

Siren’s Song, based on Nelson Motta’s novel O Canto da Sereia, follows the murder of a Brazilian pop artist in Salvador and the hunt for the criminal, which reveals a new suspect each episode.

Meanwhile, Next in Line tells the story of an honest politician who accidentally becomes the president of Brazil. The new job requires a rapprochement with his ex-wife, who accepts being first lady on the condition he does not expose the affairs that marked their problematic marriage.

Comedies Till Luck Do Us Part 1 and 2, from Globo Filmes, follow the blunders of a family man whose life changes after winning the lottery.
