Global Screen captures Zombie drama

ZombieLars

German distributor Global Screen has acquired international rights to a Norwegian drama series about a young boy who is half zombie.

ZombieLars (13×15′) airs in Norway on children’s channel NRK Super and comes from Tordenfilm, the same firm that produces Norwegian thriller Valkyrien, which recently sold to SVoD service Walter Presents in the US.

Global Screen will debut ZombieLars at the MipTV market in Cannes next month. It was created by Thomas Seeberg Torjussen and Gisle Halvorsen and received funding from Nordic Film & TV Fund and The Norwegian Film Institute.

Focusing on themes of tolerance and acceptance, it follows the adventures of a half-undead 11-year-old boy who finds out that he lives next door to a ninja, a witch, a troll and a changeling.

“The series tackles the question of how to fit in and shows how we cope with being different, and all this with great sensitivity and a sense of humour,” said Ulrike Schröder, acquisitions manager for TV at Global Screen.
