Battle Creek (13×60’), which was written by Gilligan a decade ago, follows the work of two cops in the eponymous Michigan city who team up to fight criminals.

The series, sold by Sony Pictures Television (SPT), premiered on CBS in the US on Sunday after the network gave it a straight-to-series order for 13 episodes in September 2013 for the following fall season.

Channels on which the drama has been licensed by SPT include: TF1 in France; RTL in Germany; RTE in Ireland; 365 Media in Iceland; NOS in Portugal; Österreichischer Rundfunk in Austria; ICTV in Ukraine; Canal+ in Spain; D-Smart in Turkey and Turkish-speaking Cyprus; and Rostelcom and SPT Networks in Russia.

MTG has picked the show up for its free TV channels, as well as subscription VoD rights for online streaming service Viaplay in Denmark, Norway and Sweden, while the series has also been secured by Hot for Israel and M-Net for Sub-Saharan Africa, including South Africa, Nigeria, Kenya, Tanzania and Ghana.

Meanwhile, the programme has been licensed by Fox International Channels across eight territories in Southeast Asia, as well as the online streaming service iQiyi in China. Battle Creek has also been picked up down under by TVNZ for TV ONE in New Zealand and Seven Network in Australia, as well as in Brazil by Globo TV and Shaw Media in Canada.

Battle Creek is produced by Shore Z Productions, High Bridge Productions, Gran Via Productions and Bad Hat Harry Productions in association with SPT and CBS Television Studios. It’s exec produced by Shore, Gilligan, Bryan Singer and Mark Johnson.
