Gédéon hires for int’l drive

Paris-based documentary producer Gédéon Programmes has hired former BBC exec Krishan Arora as development consultant.

Arora will be in charge of developing new documentary series and format ideas for the Gédéon group, as well as looking for potential international coproduction opportunities.

Based in London, Arora has been an independent consultant and producer for the past couple of years, after having worked for a decade at the BBC in roles such as commissioning executive for factual.

As a consultant, Arora works with clients including French documentary market Sunny Side of The Doc.

Gédéon Programmes, which owns documentary distributor Terranoa, raised investment funds over the summer with an eye on developing its international activity.

The company currently has several high-end international coproductions underway, including Rio: The Great Saga with Conspiração in Brazil. It has also moved into theatrical docs, with its feature Amazonia having opened in French theatres on Wednesday.
