GBI adds digital exec

US children’s content firm Genius Brands International (GBI) has hired a former Disney Interactive Media Group producer for a newly created position at the firm.

Jason Brumbaugh joins GBI as VP of digital, reporting to GBI president Amy Moynihan Heyward and leading the company’s various digital initiatives around its slate of programming.

GBI’s brands include Secret Millionaires Club with Warren Buffett, Thomas Edison’s Secret Lab and Stan Lee’s Mighty 7.

“As GBI’s portfolio of brands continues to grow and we start to introduce these new original properties into the commercial marketplace, the digital presence of these brands is a critical element of our business,” said Moynihan Heyward.

Brumbaugh was previously a senior producer at the Hub Network, now known as Discovery Family Channel, where he was responsible for planning, developing and launching promotional content on the channel’s website.
