Gaumont rings Bell for music toon

Narcos producer Gaumont Television has partnered with actress Kristen Bell (Frozen) on a musical animated series for preschoolers.

Do, Re & Mi (52×11′) marks the first project to come out of Gaumont’s animation division since the appointment of Nicolas Atlan as president in March.

It follows a musical eighth note and his two best friends, a nerdy electronic tablet with access to a world of knowledge and a bossy keyboard, as they find inspiration in music.

The series will feature original tracks performed by Bell, who played Princess Anna in Disney’s hit feature film Frozen, as well as Jackie Tohn and other musical guests.

Do, Re & Mi will be executive produced by creator Tohn, who was a finalist on season eight of American Idol, alongside Michael Scharf, Ivan Askwith and Bell, who is also known for Veronica Mars, House of Lies, Bad Moms and the forthcoming NBC comedy The Good Place.
