FYI gets romantic

A+E Networks’ fledgling lifestyle channel FYI has ordered two hour-long pilots from the UK’s Nerd TV and 44 Blue Productions.

You’re the One (working title), from Nerd, follows people as they travel the world looking for a lost love, mobilising communities around the world using social and mass media to trace old holiday romances or high-school sweethearts.

The executive producers are Jago Lee, John Farrar, Sarah Lazenby, Gena McCarthy and Toby Faulkner.

Marry Me… Today (wt) follows an ambitious groom who proposes to his girlfriend and stages the wedding later that day. The groom uses his girlfriend’s online wishlist to find her dream engagement ring, wedding cake, gown and venue.

The series is produced by 44 Blue Productions in association with digital wedding planner The Knot. Executive producers are Stephanie Drachkovitch, Carley Roney, Danielle von Zerneck, Gena McCarthy and Lauren Wohl.

The commissions were announced by FYI and LMN president Jana Bennett and production will begin immediately.

FYI officially launches later this summer, replacing A+E Networks’ Bio channel.
