The show gained more than three million viewers for its debut run last year and was the top-rated new scripted cable series of the 2013 summer among adults 18-49, but its second season failed to build on that audience.

It was produced by FX Productions and Shine America, with Carolyn G Bernstein, Lars Blomgren, Meredith Stiehm and Elwood Reid the executive producers.

The show is distributed by Shine International, while Fox International Channels (FIC) came on board as a co-financing partner and picked up exclusive pay-TV rights to the second 13-episode season in 125 countries.

The Bridge stars Demian Bichir and Diane Kruger as detectives trying to solve a murder committed on the US-Mexico border, and was the top-rated new scripted cable series of the summer among adults 18-49.

The original Danish/Swedish series was produced by Shine Group’s Filmlance and Denmark’s Nimbus Film Production. It also spawned The Tunnel, a UK-French remake from Kudos Film and TV and Shine France Films.
