FX indulges in more Sex&Drugs

FX in the US has ordered a second season of Denis Leary’s comedy Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll, about an ageing rocker trying to reform his old band.

The cablenet has commissioned another 10 episodes to air in 2016.

Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll debuted earlier this year and marked Leary’s first TV venture since FX firefighter drama Rescue Me ended its seven-season run in 2011.

The actor also writes the show, which is produced by FX Productions and Fox 21 Television Studios and is filmed on location in New York City.

Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll revolves around Johnny Rock (Leary), a middle-aged rocker who desperately wanted to be rich and famous after his early 1990s band, The Heathens, was on the cusp of breaking through.
