Fusion likes Nerd’s Selfie

MIPTV: Youth-skewing digital and linear channel Fusion has commissioned UK prodco Nerd TV to make a US version of its Selfie series.

Selfie

My Selfie Life has been greenlit for a 10-episode run by Fusion, a joint venture between Univision Communications and the Disney/ABC Television Network.

The series gives a diverse range of young Americans control of filming and sharing their intimate short stories. Each episode centres on a major experience in a person’s life – be it tracking down a lost love, beginning a sex change or tackling an eating disorder.

It follows on from Selfie, which started off as a series of web shorts produced by Nerd for Channel 4’s website in the UK. They were later turned into a longform programme for broadcast on the linear channel.

My Selfie Life will premiere on Fusion this fall. Nerd parent Red Arrow will handle distribution and John Farrar will executive produce.
