MIPCOM: BBC Worldwide Productions in France has landed a commission to adapt UK format The Great Bake Off for a French commercial network.

The French adaptation of the format first seen on BBC2 is due to air on M6 later this year, putting amateur bakers through a series of challenges. It was developed and originally produced by UK indie Love Productions.

“This warm and authentic format all the crucial elements to be a show-stopper. When it comes to The Great Bake Off, the proof is in the pudding,” said Jean Louis Blot, creative director at BBC Worldwide Productions France.

The original series continues to play well on BBC2, recently scoring a market share of 19.9%. The format has also been licensed ^[2] to Nine Network (Australia), TLC (Poland), VTM (Belgium), TV3 (Ireland), DR (Denmark) and TV7/Sjuan (Sweden).
