Fremantle takes Secret Admirer to MipTV

Secret Admirer

Dating show Secret Admirer and dance competition Time to Dance are among the new formats being launched by RTL Group-owned producer and distributor FremantleMedia at next month’s MipTV.

Produced by FremantleMedia-backed Naked Entertainment, Secret Admirer follows dates as they take place between a person and their friend for whom the former has secret feelings. The format has already aired on Channel 5 and MTV in the UK, Bravo in the US and Sweden’s TV3.

Time to Dance, devised by FremantleMedia’s Dutch outfit Blue Circle for RTL4, gives dancers 30 seconds to show off their skills to a panel of expert judges before waiting to see their verdict. Successful acts will go through to perform a full audition in front of a live audience to try and win a cash prize.

Also new on the format slate is FremantleMedia France-produced All Your Wishes, which sees a magician using large-scale illusions to help participants see their ultimate and craziest wishes granted on-stage.

Celebrities Advice Bureau, produced by London-based Voltage TV for UKTV channel W, asks stars to advise on problems and issues put to them from members of the public.

The Employables, produced by Australia’s Eureka Productions for SBS, sees a self-made entrepreneur lead a group of socially disadvantaged job-seekers in attempting to create a successful start-up company.

Recipes From Home, originally commissioned from FremantleMedia Portugal by RTP1, sees two teams attempt to cook a family recipe dish that has been sent in by viewers via a step-by-step instruction video. The outcomes are then judged by a celebrity head chef in a blind taste test, with the victors staying on.

Lastly, FremantleMedia is resurrecting classic gameshow Beat The Clock, with a new version produced by its North American production arm for Universal Kids. In the show, children and their adult relatives team up to compete in wacky challenges against the clock.
