Fremantle North America adds Dinsmore

FremantleMedia North America (FMNA) has appointed a new president for alternative programming and development.

Jayson Dinsmore

Jayson Dinsmore, formerly of US cablenet CMT, will lead the company’s domestic and international unscripted development strategy with a focus on sourcing, developing, pitching and producing original programming.

His appointment comes after Toby Gorman, who was executive VP of alternative programming at FMNA, left the firm last year.

Dinsmore, who was head of development at CMT, left the channel last September after a restructure at parent company Viacom. Prior to joining CMT, he spent more than a decade at NBC Entertainment.

Dinsmore will report to FMNA CEO Jennifer Mullin. Shows on the firm’s roster include America’s Got Talent, Family Feud, The Price is Right, Match Game and American Idol.

Mullin said: “Jayson is one of the most well respected and admired executives within the television industry. He is innovative, creative and brings an enormous amount of experience in both development and production. He shares our ambition at FMNA and I am delighted to have him lead our unscripted team.”
