Fremantle Media's Finnish light entertainment production operation, Fremantle Entertainment Oy, has poached its new managing director from Swedish DTTV operator Boxer TV.

Caspar Berntzen was previously managing director of Boxer TV and created a Finnish subsidiary for the company. He previously worked as national manager and vice president for the Danish Egmont Group.

Fremantle has two production operations in Finland: the light entertainment division and an office that deals with all other productions. Berntzen's appointment coincides with the restructure of the entertainment division which, jointly owned by Fremantle Media and commercial broadcaster MTV3 since its launch in 1999, is now wholly owned by Fremantle Media.

Berntzen fills the role vacated by Ari Lohenoja, who left the company some time ago. He will report to Sue Green, managing director Nordic & Central Europe, who said: {The buy-out and restructure of the Finnish office will make a significant difference to the way we work and the way we promote ourselves in the market.{

Fremantle Entertainment is responsible for producing Finnish shows including Extreme Escapades (Suuri Seikkailu), Lyrics Board (Bumtsibum!), Greed and Fib Finders (Kuutamolla).
