Fremantle can do Armoza format in Oz

FremantleMedia Australia has picked up the rights to Israeli distributor Armoza Formats’ new primetime shiny-floor talent show I Can Do That!.

The show challenges eight celebrities to choose an act to master in a week before they perform it live, with viewers deciding who’s best, and emerged from a partnership between Armoza and China’s JiangSu Broadcasting Corporation (JSBC) to co-develop and distribution original formats.

JSBC last week acquired a licence to adapt the show in China.

The format was also recently picked up in France, Spain, Italy, Portugal, Germany and Norway, in deals with international content companies Endemol, Banijay and Shine.

Tim Clucas, director of programming at FremantleMedia Australia, said: “We went to Mipcom looking for an early evening format that could provide laughs, entertainment, and jeopardy in a glossy, pacey programme that would bring the whole family back together in front of the one show. I Can Do That! delivers all of that and adds celebrities and charity fundraising as a bonus.”

No broadcaster is yet attached.
