Freeform engages with Bachelor spin-off

US cablenet Freeform has ordered a spin-off to The Bachelor that follows the reality show’s most recently engaged couple as they prepare to walk down the aisle.

Ben and Lauren: Happily Ever After stars former contestant Ben Higgins and his fiancée Lauren Bushnell, who he met on the ABC dating format’s latest season, during preparations for married life.

The documentary series is scheduled to air in October and will be produced by Next Entertainment in association with Warner Horizon Television.

The commissions sees Freeform continue to grow its slate of original programming following its rebrand from ABC Family at the beginning of this year.
