France TV locks up UK police drama

MIPCOM: French public broadcaster France Télévisions has picked up the latest UK drama from Shameless and State of Play creator Paul Abbott.

No Offence originally aired on Channel 4

Distributor FremantleMedia International sold Abbott’s No Offence to France Télévisions in Cannes this week.

The series, which originally aired on Channel 4 in the UK, will air on France 2. This follows deals for the show with ABC in Australia, DR in Denmark and RUV in Iceland, among other international broadcasters.

The plot focuses on a close-knit policing unit in North West England, following a team of officers as they crack down on crime in a chaotic community.

AbbottVision produces the series with Abbott and Martin Carr executive producing.
