Foxtel’s Crime & Investigation Network in Australia has commissioned a docu-drama series about the crimes committed at the infamous Westbrook boys’ home in Queensland.

Westbrook (2×60′) tells the true story of a care home in which hundreds of boys were imprisoned, systematically abused and sexually assaulted during the 1950s and 60s.

Featuring archive footage alongside emotional interviews with many of the survivors – men now in their 60s and 70s – the series also dramatises some of the boys’ attempts to escape and burn down the facility.

Produced by Graham McNeice at Shadow Productions, the programme is set to begin airing on the pay TV network on August 28.
