Fox releases trailers for new comedies, dramas

UPFRONTS: The Fox network has unveiled the trailers for three of its comedies for next fall as well as two of the dramas it has in the pipeline for midseason.

From exec producer Charlie Day (It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia), The Cool Kids is a multi-camera comedy about a group of three friends living in a retirement community whose lives are disrupted by a new arrival.

The half-hour show is from 20th Century Fox Television, FX Productions and 3 Arts Entertainment. It will fill the Friday 20.30 slot on Fox from this fall. 20th Century Fox has distribution rights.

Multi-camera comedy Last Man Standing, starring Tim Allen, has been revived for its seventh season by Fox, after the show was axed by ABC last year.

The half-hour series is produced by 20th Century Fox Television and will anchor a new Friday night comedy block in the network’s 2018 fall schedule. 20th Century Fox has distribution rights.

Rel is a multi-camera comedy starring Lil Rel Howery as a Chicago father who must rebuild his life as a single dad. 20th Century Fox Television produces the show, which will fill the Sunday night 21.30 slot from this fall. 20th Century Fox has distribution rights.

Midseason drama The Passage is based on author Justin Cronin’s best-selling trilogy of the same name. It is produced by 20th Century Fox Television, 6th & Idaho and Scott Free Productions. 20th Century Fox has distribution rights.

The exec producers include Liz Heldens (Friday Night Lights), Matt Reeves (Dawn of the Planet of the Apes), Ridley Scott (The Man in the High Castle), David Zucker (The Good Wife) and Adam Kassan (End of Watch).

Midseason drama Proven Innocent is a legal drama set in a law firm that specialises in correcting wrongful convictions. It is produced by 20th Century Fox Television and Danny Strong Productions.

The executive producers are David Elliot, Danny Strong (Empire) and Stacy Greenberg. 20th Century Fox has distribution rights.
