Fox orders Bruckheimer drama pilot

US network Fox has given a pilot order to a family drama from legendary Hollywood producer Jerry Bruckheimer.

Home is a soap opera that looks at the secrets each member of a suburban family hides from one another.

Bruckheimer – the producer behind CBS’ CSI franchise – is on board as an exec producer, along with Jonathan Littman, Aron Eli Coleite and KristieAnne Reed. Coleite is writing the pilot.

Fox has ordered additional scripts have been ordered beyond the pilot, putting the network in position for a fast transition to series production.

The decision follows comments made last month by Fox boss Kevin Reilly, who confirmed the company was to end its traditional pilot system and move towards a model more akin to cable.

Filming on the show will start this summer.

Bruckheimer currently produces CBS’s The Amazing Race and last fall’s Hostages. His best known movie work includes the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise and action films like Top Gun.
